The Mechanical Maintenance Mechanic I performs maintenance, installation and repair work on mechanical systems, equipment and components such as sterilizers, hospital beds, pumps and compressors. This work is performed under general supervision and using the tools and techniques of mechanical technology.

Hours : Full time (40 hours), Day Shift, Weekdays

Location : Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD 21287

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of formal training in a mechanical trade program at an approved vocational or technical school, college, or apprenticeship sponsor organization.
• Specialized training in at least one mechanical technology such as sterilizers, hospital beds, pumps and compressors.
• Knowledge of mechanical theory, techniques, codes, procedures and materials
• 5 years related work experience. The full-time equivalent spent in an approved program may count toward the 5-year work experience requirement.
• Knowledge of electrical techniques, codes, procedures and materials.
• Knowledge of safety rules, procedures and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards.

Salary Range: Minimum 28.07/hour - Maximum 32.57/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
